Tax Manager
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary tax advisor for dental practice owners, integrating tax planning with accounting and advisory insights.
- Partner closely with Business Advisors (former CFOs/Controllers) to deliver holistic client solutions across budgeting, forecasting, productivity analysis, and profitability strategies.
- Prepare and review complex returns, including corporate, partnership, trust, and high-net-worth individual filings, while providing proactive tax planning.
- Respond to client tax notices and represent clients before tax authorities when needed.
- Lead client Zoom meetings with professionalism and confidence; draft polished, business-level communications.
- Operate as a peer-level professional, strengthening the leadership bench and sharing responsibility for client outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active CPA license
- 7–12+ years of public accounting tax experience, with 3+ years as a manager
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage client relationships and deliver proactive advice
- Excellent communication skills and polished business writing
- Experience advising professional service firms (healthcare or dental ideal)
- Experience with the Thomson Reuters software suite, including UltraTax
- Strong commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and high-quality client service
Staff Accountant
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online, including transaction entry, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including depreciation, amortization, and account analysis.
- Manage and process payroll for clients, including payroll tax returns and compliance reporting.
- Prepare and file 1099s, sales tax, and other regulatory forms in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support insurance audits, employee retention credit (ERC) calculations, and other client compliance needs.
- Organize and maintain client documentation in Canopy folders.
- Communicate directly with clients to guide them on accounting processes, ensure accuracy, and offer process improvements.
- Assist with system transitions, new client onboarding, and setup of accounting systems.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience (CPA preferred but not required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with payroll systems and Canopy a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare payroll, reconciliations, and financial statements independently.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both colleagues and clients.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable; able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and delivering high-quality work.
Business Advisor
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned clients’ bookkeeping using customized monthly checklists.
- Categorize and reconcile transactions, bank/credit card accounts, and loans.
- Download and reconcile payroll reports; and prepare payroll allocations.
- Review Profit & Loss statements and trailing 365 reports, identifying anomalies or inconsistencies.
- Prepare and present accurate, timely Advisory Reports to clients.
- Partner with the Tax Team to identify and support planning opportunities for client tax meetings.
- Lead monthly Zoom meetings with Advisory clients and maintain consistent client communication through email and follow-ups.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience (CPA preferred, not required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Solid bookkeeping foundation with the ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
- Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and payroll platforms such as ADP or Gusto.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a polished, professional business writing style.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a focus on building authentic client relationships.
